Gold Filter Coffee
- Drip brew, or filter coffee, is a method for brewing coffee which involves pouring water over roasted, ground coffee beans contained in a filter. Water seeps through the coffee, absorbing its oils and essences, solely under gravity, then passes through the bottom of the filter.
- Drip coffee made with a ceramic, glass or plastic cone lined with a paper filter. Favored by professionals because it gives them control over water temperature — ideally 200 to 210 degrees. This coffee is sediment free, though some believe the filters add unwanted flavor.
- A yellow precious metal, the chemical element of atomic number 79, valued esp. for use in jewelry and decoration, and to guarantee the value of currencies
- A deep lustrous yellow or yellow-brown color
- made from or covered with gold; "gold coins"; "the gold dome of the Capitol"; "the golden calf"; "gilded icons"
- amber: a deep yellow color; "an amber light illuminated the room"; "he admired the gold of her hair"
- An alloy of this
- coins made of gold
The only way to travel
You say you hate that you can't find decent coffee when on a road trip? Sick of giving into having to go to Starbucks to get "real" coffee?
Check this out: Electric Hot Water Kettle $20-$30 ($100 if you must), Coffee Grinder $20 or you could pre-grind, Pour-Over Coffee maker $2-$5 or $.25 at a thrift store, and some paper filters $5? or permanet gold ones for $30 or better yet a cloth filter (which works better than the paper or gold filter, lets more oils through) and you can reuse it!
Oh and the coffee of your choice. My choice for drip is Stumptown Hairbender Coffee. Oh and don't forget a thermos.
Most likely you have all these things at home. It is a relatively small set-up to bring along on your next roadtrip that'll make your mornings so much more pleasurable. Trust me. Looking for a good spot for coffee or having to resort to "Super Xpresso Hut" ruins most mornings and you end up having to settle for diner coffee, which in theory is so Americana dope but really - for me I just end up grouchy from the kind of bad coffee they happen to be using.
I'm a snob.
